Just curious here. The local cable provider keeps upping the price on its basic tv cable (which is a requirement to have their cable modem service). As consumers are we stuck paying ever higher cost for services we do not want just because of the packaging used? I am strongly considering going to DSL just so I do not have to keep paying more every few months

You should not have to purchase services you don't want. I have internet service thru my cable company but use disknetwork for cable. There just pay the full monthly price for service that is all.
