A couple of days ago the Online Light went out on my modem and the Send Light began flashing. The modem has stayed like that ever since, but my connection to the internet is working fine and actually seems faster than when the proper lights were solid. Anyone ever see behavior in a modem and might it indicate a problem?

I finally decided to pull the power cord, wait a bit and plug it back in. It cycled through all the lights and now all the proper lights are lit. I guess it was stuck in some sort of mode where it was online but couldn't show it.

when the online light flashes means there's a low signal. depending on how it was installed you might have problems in the future. who's is your provider?

I have the same issue, it periodically drops off and I have to cycle power. I have Broadstrip as my provider.

There are a number of reasons the cable modem would require rebooting. It could be a problem with the ISP or a bad cable either to the building or a bad cable to the modem. It could also be a problem with either a computer thats connected to the modem or a router. It could be noise on either the cable or the power line to the modem. These are just a few of the common problems. There are many more but more detail of the problem would be required to make an educated guess.
