We're going to need a LOT more information to even start guessing at what might be wrong.
What is the model of the Arris Cable Modem?
What has been tried at this point in time? Replaced Modem? New drop to the house?
Are you able to post the log from the modem?

I know you think everything has been tried but if there is a problem then something has been missed.
It's easiest if you would just describe the steps that have been taken.
By the log, there is clearly a communication problem. Have you reset the modem?
If the the Modem has been replaced, was it replaced with the same brand and model?
Why won't the landlord allow a new drop to the building?
Is your ISP RoadRunner or are you posting from somewhere else?

Yes the modem has been replaced three times with the same. It it all TWC is giving me, so yes it is roadrunner. New splitter inside and out, ping and speed test all went great. My landlord is not a nice woman to put it nicely too much of a hassel for her.

tbone,
can you post the upstream and downstream power levels?
we came across a problem like this not long ago, one of our supervisors went back to a techs job to see why the modem kept resetting even though it had been replaced and all seemed good with the cabling. i asked him if it was plugged into a power strip or adapter of some sort and it was. i had him move the power cord and plug directly into a wall outlet and this fixed the problem. this would be a rare fix but worth a shot none the less.

In fact it is pluged into a surge protector. It has been there for about a year with out problems so I did not question it. I will move it and see what happens. Downstream
Freq/Power: 735.000 MHz 1 dBmV
Signal to Noise Ratio: 39 dB
Modulation: QAM256
-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------
Upstream
Freq/Power: 32.000 MHz 39 dBmV
Channel Type: DOCSIS 1.x (TDMA)
Symbol Rate: 2560 kSym/sec
Modulation: QAM16

the surge protector may be ok but is there another device you plugged into it around the time all this started to happen. have you recently installed a surrond sound system or alarm system etc...?
have you had any work done near the electric meter outside? your cable system should have a ground wire ( usually green color) attached to the house near the power meter. you can check to make sure it is attached and secure.
your signal levels look good in this snapshot. however with an upstream of 39db you downstream should be more towards +7db this could be a sign of a knicked, pinched or damaged cable. does it tend to happen during or after a rain? i would check these levels every now and then to see if they change.

Nothing new in the system that I am aware of. The db level is usally a little higher. It seems to go up and down a lot. More and more it sounds like the drop which really SUCKS for me! Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forum LOREN FOSTER.
There are many things that can cause a connection to be interrupted.
How are you connecting to the modem/router, ethernet or USB?
In your case, not knowing any details of the problem other then the log you posted, the modem would be the first place I would look. I would conclude that the cable company has done some investigating to come to their thought that the modem is possibly bad.

I am using a Linksys wcg 200 ver2 router/modem combo only have issues with connection on Sundays between the hours of 11:00 am and 9:00 pm. the snr runs at 34. Not sure if the cold weather caused the issues but seems top be better now. I would have to renew the dhcp when ever the connection was lost and it would come back again, real frustrating.

it can only connect by ethernet, I would never use a usb connection.

I would suspect that the problem is most likely something with the ISP or someone on your node hogging bandwidth if it only happens on Sundays between certain hours.
It could possibly be a virus or some kind of bot software running on your computer but that is not very likely.
Have you scanned your computer for viruses and spyware?

I have scaned and it comes up clean. I also made a clean computer(fresh install) and still does not have a affect from win 7 to win XP.
The SNR(34) stays the same and is good according to cox support. They say the connection signal from their home to my modem looks good.
It seems to be DHCP issue where it looses the dhcp for the upstream side only, that could be modem issues at times. But not all the time.
What would make more sense is someone hogging bandwidth with streaming video and the system can not handle it. One of the hops errors out then will reset itsself.
